Welcome to the website of the 2011-2012 Nittany Dreamers! Nittany Dreamers is a baton and silk corps associated with State College and University Park, Pennsylvania. The corps is comprised of participants aged 4 to 18 and features both majorettes and silks (flags). The corps marches in approximately 10 local parades during the summer months and sometimes the Penn State Homecoming parade in October, and performs at other local events such as the Arts Festival and Spikes baseball games. Practices are held Tuesday evenings at the Park Forest Baptist Church for 45-60 minutes per group from November to May. Two summer practices are usually held during the parade season.
ALEXIS KNAPIK - BATON CO-INSTRUCTOR
I grew up learning how to twirl baton with Nittany Dreamers and I loved every second of it. It is an honor for me to be able to share my passion of baton twirling and teaching with the members of Nittany Dreamers. It is the best way for me to be able to give back to a group that means so much to me. My goals for being an instructor are to teach your son or daughter the skills every baton twirler needs to know in a fun, rewarding and enjoyable atmosphere while building friendships and gaining confidence along the way. As an instructor, I take pride in my position and make it my responsibility to meet every students needs and expectations in the classroom. I am so excited to work with the students and parents of the 2010-2011 season and I look forward to the friendships we will make.

JESSICA ROBINSON - BATON CO-INSTRUCTOR
Nittany Dreamers has been a part of my life for eight or nine years now, and I have loved every minute of it. Over those years, I have been able to meet some very wonderful girls that share the same love of twirling I do. I look forward to each practice and seeing the girls who have become like a second family to me. Becoming an instructor this year, with my great friend Lexi, is something I can’t describe with words. I hope to be able to teach your son or daughter the skills of twirling and silks that have been taught to me through this wonderful group. We have great plans for this year that I am very excited about and can’t wait to get the season started. I hope you and your child will join us and experience the fun and excitement that I have.

This is my first year with Nittany Dreamers as the
silk instructor. I am from Latrobe, Pennsylvania
where I attended Greater Latrobe High School and
participated in the Latrobe marching band in colorguard
and winterguard. I was in colorguard for four years and
did three winter seasons where we competed in the
TRWEA circuit in Pittsburgh. I was silk captain my
senior year and loved every minute of it. As a junior at
Penn State University, I am pleased to be working with
this wonderful group of kids throughout my stay at Penn
State and teach them skills I have acquired through my
years in the colorguard. This will be a fun and rewarding
experience for both myself and the students. I am excited
about the parent involvement with the program. I look
forward to a great and exciting season!
